The Probation Officers Advisory Board and the Probation Committee have proposed revisions to the Indiana Probation Standards that are now available for public comment. The original Probation Standards were adopted by the Judicial Conference Board of Directors in 1989 and revised in 2001. The Probation Committee will accept written comments regarding the proposed revisions until November 25, 2013. The proposed changes include a new Probation Officer Code of Conduct, new standards on the use of evidence-based practices, new standards on the probation officer examination, and safety and security.
