Please read this Disclaimer:

The Indiana Pro Bono Commission is not an active legal practice. There are no attorneys in our office that take cases or offer legal advice in person, over the phone or by email. The Indiana Pro Bono Commission does not have a list of pro bono attorneys and will not recommend specific attorneys or law firms. We understand filing or defending a civil case in court can be very difficult. There are a lot of court rules and procedures that have to be followed. Also, some cases may require specific kinds of immediate action or have deadlines to file papers, and failing to act or missing a deadline can have serious consequences for your case. Timely legal advice can stop small problems from becoming larger ones.

The providers listed at the links on this page provide assistance with civil (not criminal) cases only. For assistance with a criminal case, you may either hire a private attorney or accept legal representation from the local public defender's office.

Please choose your county of residence to see a list of organizations in your area that provide legal services to low income clients. If you are filing in a different county, please contact the providers for both of those counties to determine which pro bono organization may be able to provide you assistance. Legal representation may be provided free or at a low cost to those who qualify; however, no-cost or low-cost legal help is not available in all cases. Each county is a part of one of 12 districts.

This is not an exhaustive list, and more resources for finding legal help are listed at the bottom of this page.
