HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION recognizing the value of the IUPUI Museum Studies Collections Care and Management course.

    Whereas, The Museum Studies Collections Care and Management course is taught by Richard McCoy, adjunct instructor at IUPUI and associate conservator of objects and variable art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art;

    Whereas, On November 16, 2010, Organization Day for the 2011 session of the Indiana General Assembly, students enrolled in the Museum Studies Collections Care and Management course at IUPUI measured and documented the artwork in and around the State House;

    Whereas, The goal of this documentation is to increase public awareness of our state's cultural heritage and to make the information documented accessible to all Hoosiers;

    Whereas, Richard McCoy and the students involved in this course hope that their actions will inspire other Hoosiers to become public stewards of the state's collections of public art; and

    Whereas, Indiana possesses a rich cultural heritage that all Hoosiers should be aware of and enjoy: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly recognizes the

valuable work being done by Richard McCoy and the students enrolled in the IUPUI Museum Studies Collections Care and Management course.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Richard McCoy, adjunct instructor at IUPUI and associate conservator of objects and variable art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
