Today’s rally with ISTA was a powerful reminder of why I do this work. Our educators work hard every single day, often without the pay, resources or the respect they deserve. Public education is worth showing up for, and today we showed up in droves. #INForAll
When we underfund them and disrespect the professionals who power them, we hurt student outcomes, weaken our future workforce, and risk falling behind the rest of the nation and the world. Indiana’s students can’t afford neglect. & neither can our future #INForAll
And we must reject any effort to politicize school board races, which undermines local control and public trust. I will continue to be a fierce advocate for public education and for the families who choose it. Public schools are not just institutions—they are foundational to IN.
This session, the Republican majority has once again failed Indiana’s 1 million students in traditional public schools. These students deserve full and fair funding from the GA. Our teachers and support staff deserve respect—not just in words, but through meaningful compensation.
Today, the statehouse is filled with Hoosiers from across the state protesting against Senate Bill 1 and its cuts to public education and libraries in the Red for (Ed)ucation Rally. Our message is clear.
