Volume I contains the Memorial of the American Philosophical Society, and of The Historical Society of Philadelphia, and the Journal of the Council of the Province of Pennsylvania, covering the period of March 10, 1683 to November 27, 1700. Volume II contains the proceeding minutes of the Council of the Province of Pennsylvania from December 18, 1700 to May 16, 1717. Volume III contains the proceeding minutes of the Council from May 31, 1717 to January 23, 1736.
The proceeding minutes of the Council of the Province of Pennsylvania are contained in Volume IV (February 7, 1736 to October 15, 1745), Volume V (December 17, 1745 to March 20, 1754), Volume VI (April 2, 1754 to January 29, 1756), and Volume VII (January 29, 1756 to January 11, 1758).
The proceeding minutes of the Council of the Province of Pennsylvania are contained in Volume VIII (January 13, 1757 to October 4, 1762), Volume IX (October 15, 1762 to October 17, 1771), and Volume X (October 18, 1771 to September 27, 1775). Volume X also contains the Minutes of the Council of Safety from June 30, 1775 to November 12, 1776. Volume XI contains the proceeding minutes of the Council of Safety from November 13, 1776 to May 20, 1779.
The proceeding minutes of the Supreme Executive Council are contained in Volume XII (May 21, 1779 to July 12, 1781), Volume XIII (July 13, 1781 to December 31, 1783), Volume XIV (January 1, 1784 to April 3, 1786), Volume XV (July 4, 1786 to February 6, 1789), and Volume XVI (February 7, 1789 to December 20, 1790).
