Angela Latrail Garrett

Angela LatrailGarrett, grew up in Kokomo, IN.

  • Garrett received her B.S. in Business Administration at Indiana State University and completed her Teacher Certification Program through Indiana University-Kokomo.
  • She is a clerk in the Children’s Department of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library.
  • She is interested in a school media specialization or children/YA services in a public library setting.

    Nichelle Marie Hayes 

    Nichelle Marie Hayes lives in Indianapolis, IN.

    • Received her BS and MPA degrees from Valdosta State University.
    • She has established and funded a Church Library.
    • Has made extensive use of genealogical resources.
    • Hayes is interested in academic and genealogical librarianship.

    Raquel Patricia Lopez

    Raquel Patricia Lopez,  grew up in Gary, IN.

    • In May 1999 she received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Spanish from Indiana University Northwest.
    • Lopez has worked for the IU Northwest Library since October 1997 as Library Assistant, Assistant Head of Circulation, and currently serves as the Library Secretary.
    • She is interested in Academic Librarianship.

    James William Wallace, Jr.

    James William Wallace, Jr,
    was born in Evanston, IL and has lived in Merrillville, Indiana since January 2006. Other states he has also lived in include: Missouri, Pennsylvania, Colorado, ad Tennessee.
    • He received his Bachelor of General Studies Degree from Indiana University Northwest, graduating with highest honors for a 3.95 GPA..
    • Wallace serves as the President of the Northwest Indiana chapter of the Student African American Brotherhood (SAAB); Senator with the Student Government Association; student representative on both the IU Northwest Chancellors Diversity Annual Report Committee and the Chancellors Replacement Search committee.
    • He currently works in the campus library and computer technology center.
    • Upon completion of his MLS, he will return to the Northwest Indiana Area and devote himself to developing critical literacy programs to benefit area youth, library setting not yet determined.

    Madelyn Shackelford Washington

    Madelyn Shackelford Washington,
    is originally from Detroit, MI and comes to Bloomington via Simi Valley, CA.

    • She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Studies and a Master of Music in Afro Latin Music.
    • With 13 years of training, she is a well-seasoned musician and has toured Europe with a number of Orchestras as a Flute player since 1996. 
    • As a performer, she has appeared in over 40 different countries spanning all but two of the world’s continents.
    • Washington is interested in Digital Librarianship.
    • Graduation – May 2011 IUB SLIS
