eReader Forum Scheduled for June 8th In response to numerous LSTA grant applications for eReaders, iPads and digital content, a forum has been scheduled to discuss these resources on Wednesday, June 8 from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the State library. The guided discussion will examine best practices for the use of eReaders and iPads in libraries. Ultimately, attendee input will guide current and future LSTA Technology expenditures and shape how digital content is made available statewide. Ivy Tech LTA Program Receives National Recognition
The
American Library Association-Allied Professional Association
(ALA-APA) recently announced that the
Library Technical Assistant program at the Ivy Tech
Community College in Indianapolis is one of three
Library Assistant Training programs nationwide that will
allow their graduates to receive the Library Support Staff
Certification (LSSC) without having to further demonstrate
their skills and knowledge. Students statewide entered the contest by promoting reading and summer programs at libraries. The group won $250 and their video will be featured throughout 2011 as the official commercial for Indiana's Summer Reading Program. |
