Workshop Series Explores Topics in Historic Preservation The Indiana State Historic Records Advisory Board (SHRAB) recently announced its third-annual SHRAB Conferences at locations throughout Indiana from August 3 to August 24. These workshops provide valuable information to those who work with and care for historical records. This year, each conference will focus on different issues and skill sets, including the use of electronic records and digital repositories, appraisal, environmental considerations, as well as the utilization of social media. The dates and programs for the 2011 SHRAB Workshops are as follows:
Each conference includes lunch and public librarians can earn between four and seven Library Education Units toward certification. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited. Registrations are due by August 1st. For more information or to sign up for a conference, please visit the SHRAB Conference Series website or contact the SHRAB at shrab@icpr.IN.gov. Hundreds of Free Courses Available Again via WebJunction WebJunction’s online self-paced courses are once again be available free of charge to Indiana library professionals. This catalog of more than 300 courses is made available through the Indiana State Library's sponsorship of WebJunction’s Partner Program. As of July 1, 2011, all courses are offered free of charge, and you can enroll in as many courses as you choose. To view this catalog, you must have a WebJunction account. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) seeks your
comments and ideas to help shape IMLS programs and services
to most effectively meet public needs. IMLS is developing a
strategic plan to guide its work and priorities over the
next five years and on July 15 will post highlights of the
draft plan for public feedback at
