Biographical Note:

Thomas B. Helm was a teacher in Logansport, Indiana from 1844-1873.  He was also the civil engineer and the probate commission for Cass County.  He wrote the History of Cass County, Indiana in 1886 and the histories for other Indiana counties.

Scope and Content Note:

This collection contains diaries kept by Thomas B. Helm.  The majority of the diaries contain information related to weather conditions in Logansport.  The journals also make reference to Cass County happenings and events within Helms family.
