Historical Note:
In February 1865, Captain Josiah Dom, 1st Lieutenant Sanford Briddle, and 2nd Lieutenant Enoch Allen recruited Company G of the 146th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry in Dearborn County. The company was mustered into service in Indianapolis on March 1. They left for Virginia on March 11. The company moved several times and did picket and guard duty with the regiment until July 15. They were then detached and assigned to Provost duty in Wilmington, Delaware, until August 25. The company returned to Baltimore where they were mustered out on August 31 due to the end of the war. From there, they returned to Indianapolis and were honorably discharged.

The collection contains a Soldiers Memorial to Company G, 146th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry. The item lists all the men who served in the company.
