The opportunity for the public to submit suggestions for substantive rule amendments closed on April 1, 2009. The suggestions will be considered by or under the supervision of the Natural Resources Advisory Council, which intends to present its report at the January 2010 Natural Resources Commission meeting.

The Natural Resources Advisory Council has scheduled public meetings as follows:
December 9, 2009, 10:30 a.m., EST (9:30 a.m., CST), at the Fort Harrison State Park Inn (formerly the Kendall Inn), Roosevelt Ballroom, 5830 North Post Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. At this meeting, the Advisory Council will conduct discussion regarding recommendations in preparation for reporting to the Natural Resources Commission.
On October 14, 2009, the Advisory Council met to consider suggestions received in CATEGORY: Fishing-Except Trout & Salmon on the Brookville Tail waters (Administrative Cause No. 09-086D). The minutes of these meetings are not yet available.
On June 10, 2009, the Advisory Council met to consider the suggestions received in CATEGORY: Hunting, Trapping, Taking Mammals/Except Deer (Administrative Cause No. 09-085D)
On July 14, 2009, the Advisory Council met to consider the suggestions received in CATEGORY: Hunting, Trapping, Taking of Deer (Administrative Cause No. 09-088D)
On August 12, 2009, the Advisory Council met to consider the suggestions received in CATEGORY: Hunting Birds (Administrative Cause No. 09-084D)
On September 14, 2009 and October 8, 2009, the Advisory Council met to consider suggestions received in CATEGORY: Fishing-Trout and Salmon on the Brookville Tail waters, (Administrative Cause 09-087D)

Another component of the Commission's Fish and Wildlife Rule Enhancement Project involves the preparation of three "housekeeping/clarification" rule amendment packages. These three technical packages primarily re-order language and combine related topics to improve clarity and simplicity.
