New base rates for Midwest Natural Gas Corporation were approved on November 7, 2012. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission's (IURC's) 27-page order is available by clicking here.

The order will allow Midwest Natural Gas - which provides service in ten southern Indiana counties - to increase its annual operating revenues by nearly $396,000.

The utility originally requested an increase of nearly $756,000 in this case. The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC), in its March 8, 2012 testimony, recommended limiting the increase to approximately $127,000.

The OUCC issued a February 16, 2012 news release inviting consumer comments.

To review testimony and other case documents, please visit the IURC's public file and enter docket number 44063.
