New base rates for Boonville Natural Gas Corporation were approved on November 7, 2012. In its order, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) approved a settlement agreement between the utility and the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC).

The agreement will increase the utility's monthly residential customer charge from $10.00 to $12.00. Overall, the agreement will provide Boonville Natural Gas with about $572,000 in new annual operating revenues. By comparison, the utility originally requested an increase of nearly $814,000. The OUCC, in its May 25, 2012 testimony, recommended limiting the increase to approximately $478,000.

To review testimony and other case documents, please visit the IURC's public file and enter docket number 44129.

The OUCC issued an April 2, 2012 news release to invite consumer comments.
