Instructor Permit Application
Senate Enrolled Act 615 requires that all instructors apply for permit in order to instruct. Before this legislation was enacted, the Indiana Real Estate Commission (“Commission”) approved instructors through the course approval process and kept a registry of those approvals. While the Commission accepted instructors within their course approval process, a permit was not applied for nor was a permit number issued.
According to the new statute, instructors approved by the Commission prior to July 1, 2013 can be “grandfathered” in. There is no fee associated with this request and a new instructor permit number will be issued. This number will differ from the previous number assigned.
Please complete and submit the Application for Instructor Permit. The application can be mailed, faxed to (317) 233-4236 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once the permit is issued, it will expire on June 30, 2016 and will need to be renewed every 3 years thereafter. All other course approval processes will remain intact. After July 1, 2013, a permit must be held by an instructor in order to instruct.
