Natural Resources Education Center - Ft. Harrison State Park, Indianapolis
Project Learning Tree is broad-based environmental education program, designed to support, augment, and enrich a variety of teaching and learning opportunities. A source of hands-on, interdisciplinary instructional activities, PLT is available to teachers and other educators through participation in a six-hour workshop. During the workshop participants are introduced to the PLT activity guide, experience a variety of activities, and learn how to use it in their own particular setting and integrate the activities into their existing curriculum. It is "classroom friendly" - and requires minimal preparation to be included in lesson plans.
Indiana licensed teachers are eligible for 3 CRUs by attending the workshop. PLT is correlated to the Indiana state standards for grades K-8 in English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
There is a $15 fee for this workshop. Participants will receive the Prek-8 PLT Guide and other supporting materials. Checks should be made out to IFEF/PLT. Sorry, no cash or credit cards accepted.
Please bring a sack lunch and dress for the outdoors as some activities will take place in the beautiful Indiana summer weather.
To register or for more information, please contact Donna Rogler at plt@dnr.in.gov or 317-549-0354.
