On today's date at approximately 3:15 PM, detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg arrested Jeremy Louis Neal Green, 19, of Lee Street, Louisville, KY. Green was arrested at the Sellersburg Post on an arrest warrant that was issued out of the Harrison County Superior Court for Neglect of a Dependent. The arrest warrant was the result of a case that involved the death of a 17 month old infant that he was the father of.

On February 11, 2009 at approximately 4:01 PM, a trooper, county deputy and emergency medical responders were called to a residence located on Kennedy Mott Road in Depauw, Harrison County for an infant not breathing. The child was transported to the Harrison County Hospital by ambulance where the child was pronounced dead upon arrival.

At the request of the Harrison County Prosecutor's Office an investigation began into the death of the child. An autopsy was performed by the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office on the infant. The results of the autopsy showed the cause of death to be attributed to positional asphyxia, but a high level of Diphenhydramine, an over the counter medication, could have contributed to the infant's death.

During the investigation detectives learned that on February 11, 2009 in the morning hours, the 17 month old child was allegedly not feeling well. Jeremy Louis Neal Green, the infant's father, medicated the infant and placed the child into a baby bed that was allegedly damaged allowing the child to get its head and neck between the rails of the bed. When Jeremy Louis Neal Green checked on the child at approximately 4:00 PM, the child was not breathing.

Jeremy Louis Neal Green was charged with Neglect of a Dependent, A Felony and Neglect of a Dependent, D Felony, (Two Counts). He was incarcerated in the Harrison County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
