Marion County - Last night, at approximately 11:21 p.m., Indiana State Police responded to a pedestrian being struck on I-74 westbound near the 72 mile-marker that claimed the life of an Indianapolis man.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim, a 19 year old male, was driving his 1991 Toyota westbound on I-74 near the 72 mile-marker when he attempted an illegal u-turn, getting his vehicle stuck in the median. The driver exited his vehicle and attempted to cross the westbound lanes of I-74 and was struck by a westbound 2006 Toyota being driven by Mihir Nag, 52, Crawfordsville, IN. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner's Office.
The identity of the victim is not being released at this time due to pending notification of his next of kin.
This is an on-going investigation.
