INDIANAPOLIS (June 22, 2009) - The Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is extending the filing deadline until 6:00 p.m. today for claimants to receive their unemployment insurance benefit tomorrow.
A network hardware malfunction disrupted claimant access to DWD's unemployment filing system - "Uplink" - on Monday morning at approximately 10:00 a.m. Service was restored two hours later. The Indiana Office of Technology is working to identify and correct the issue. A similar occurrence disrupted service on Sunday afternoon.
Under normal business circumstances, Hoosiers who file eligible vouchers before 3:00 p.m. will receive their benefit the next business day.
"The Department of Workforce Development and Indiana Office of Technology apologize for any inconvenience this service disruption has caused our claimants," said Marc Lotter, Communications Director at the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. "An examination of the claims data for the week indicates that nearly everyone who traditionally files on Sunday and Monday has filed this week."
Hoosiers who file eligible vouchers after 6:00 p.m. will receive their benefit on Wednesday.
