Daviess County applying for LPA Group IV federal funds

VINCENNES, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently accepted applications for federal funds.  The applications were for projects located in counties or in towns with a population of less than 5,000 (based on 2000 US Census) and must also be located outside the urbanized area of a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).

The public meeting to consider Daviess County's application for the County Road 900 East project will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1.  Said meeting will be held at the INDOT Vincennes District Office Testing Building, 3650 South U.S. Highway 41, Vincennes, Indiana.  Any interested person may attend this meeting and discuss the proposed project with the Project Evaluation Committee at that time.

The maximum amount of funding to any one applicant during the 2009 call for projects if $3,000,000 and will require the local entity to provide 20% in matching local funds.  The Vincennes District has been allocated $4.1 million for distribution.   A total of six communities submitted projects to the Vincennes District totaling approximately $16.2 million.
