The outdoor skill of orienteering can be a life saver. Learn to navigate with a map and compass at Spring Mill State Park's two-hour workshop, July 7.
During this workshop, participants can learn to read a compass and topographical map and how to use those skills in orienteering. The workshop finishes with a 1.2-mile orienteering challenge course.
The workshop begins at 6 p.m. and costs $20 per person. The fee includes a compass and topographical map for each person to take home. Although there is no age limit, the workshop is designed for ages 12 and older.
Attendance is limited to 12 people. Register before the July 1 deadline at the Spring Mill Park office or by calling (812) 849-4129.
Park entrance fees of $4 per vehicle for Indiana residents and $7 per vehicle for non-residents will apply.
