Three-on-three volleyball competition and a sand sculpture contest will be staged at Lieber State Recreation Area on July 4.

Registration for the volleyball tournament is at 3:30 at the swimming pool. The competition follows at 4 p.m., also at the swimming pool. The event will be canceled if it is raining.

The annual sand sculpture contest will be held at the beach from 1 to 2 p.m. Registration for this team competition (four-person or family teams) runs from 12:30 to start time. All teams must provide their own equipment. Only sand, water, rocks (natural objects) may be used for the sculpture. Judging will be based on quality, originality, and age of group. The contest will be canceled if it rains.
