The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 6:00pm in the Lebanon Senior High School cafeteria, 510 Essex Drive (Entrance B) in the City of Lebanon. The purpose of this public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on current design plans for the proposed added travel lanes and pavement replacement along I-65 beginning north of the Boone/Hendricks County Line approximately 0.2 mile south of I-865 and ends just north of the City of Lebanon approximately 0.1 mile north of US 52. The project is located in Boone County. The total project length is about 12.8 miles. From the southern project limits to just south of CR 100 East, one additional travel lane will be constructed to I-65 in each direction at the inside shoulder while holding the outside pavement edge in place. The two existing lanes in each direction will be milled and resurfaced while the additional third lane and fourth auxiliary lane will consist of full depth asphalt. MSE walls will be needed near the CR 100 East interchange on the west side of the interstate, and south of SR 32 interchange on the west side of the interstate. Additional project information including, preliminary design presentation, proposed right-of-way acquisition, the project costs and schedule, maintenance of traffic during construction, will be presented in greater detail during the public hearing. INDOT project officials will be present during the public hearing to address questions, comments and concerns in regards to this proposed project. The public hearing will consist of a formal presentation where INDOT officials will present the project proposal, a public comment session where interested persons will have an opportunity to express comments and concerns for the public record, in addition to an informal open house session where the public will have an opportunity to view project maps, displays, and other materials.
