The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 6:00pm in the Harris Academy Gymnasium at 725 A South Green Streety in Brownsburg, Indiana. The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on current design plans for the proposed reconstruction on SR 267 beginning at the intersection of SR 267 (Green Street) and Sycamore Street and extending north 1.6 miles to 100 feet north of the intersection of SR 267 and CR 600 North (56th Street) located in Brownsburg, Hendricks County. This project is proposed to replace the existing deteriorating pavement and provides enhancements to traffic operations and traffic capacity by adding and improving auxiliary lanes at major intersections. Mainline SR 267 will consist of two sixteen (16) foot lanes with new sidewalks, curb and gutter, and storm sewer system. The intersection of SR 267 and US 136 will be shifted slighly to permit easier turn movements. The traffic signals at Tilden Road, US 136, and 56th Street will be replaced to accommodate the widening of SR 267 and the shifting of the US 136 intersection. Additional project information will be presented in greater detail during the public hearing including, the project schedule, right-of-way acquisition, and the maintenance of traffic during construction. INDOT project officials will be present during the public hearing to address questions, comments and concerns. In addition to the project project presentation, an informal open house session will be held immediately following the public hearing where interested persons will have an opportunity to view project maps, displays, and information materials. INDOT would like to encourage the community to attend this public hearing. Should you have additional questions regarding this public hearing, please contact Rickie Clark, INDOT Public Hearings Manager at (317) 232-6601 or via e-mail at rclark@indot.in.gov.
