LAPORTE, Ind. - The following lane restrictions and road closures are current or upcoming for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) LaPorte District. Comprised of 13 counties in Northwest Indiana, the LaPorte District includes Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Newton, Jasper, Starke, Marshall, Pulaski, Fulton, White, Cass and Carroll counties.

The timeframe for many restrictions listed below are subject to change in the event of inclement weather. Cass County

• Project: US 24/SR 29/US 35 Asphalt Resurface between Burlington Ave. and Delaware Rd.

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

Timeframe: May 11 - August 2009

• Project: SR 25 Small Structure Replacement over Longcliff Creek, 0.23 miles S of US 35

Details: Closed to all traffic; Detour: SR 218 EB to SR 29/SR 320 NB to US 24/35 WB

Timeframe: July 22 - September 2009

Fulton County

• Project: SR 17 Bridge Replacement over Starr Ditch, 1.77  miles S of SR 14

Details: Closed to all traffic; Detour: SR 114 EB to SR 25 NB to SR 14 WB

Timeframe: July 13 - late September 2009

Lake County

• Project: US 20 Asphalt Resurface from SR 152 to SR 912

Details: Restricted to one lane as directed by flag persons around a moving operation during daylight hours

• Project: US 41 Median Construction from 175^th to 165^th streets

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

Timeframe: March 3 - November 2009

• Project: US 41 Pavement Replacement from Hoffman St. to Huehn St.

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

• Project: US 41 Small Structure Replacement over Jane Feddeler Ditch, 0.5 miles N of US 231

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

Timeframe: June 22 - September 2009

• Project: SR 53 Median Construction from 0.94 miles N of US 30 to 2.25 miles N of US 30

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

Timeframe: March 16 - Summer 2009

• Project: I-80/94 Added Travel Lanes between SR 53 (Broadway) and Central Ave.

Details: Three lanes in each direction shifted N, featuring a unique EB lane configuration and the closure of five less-traveled ramps; Visit http://www.borman.in.gov/ for details. There also are varying nighttime lane restrictions

Timeframe: March 18 - November 2009

• Project: SR 312 Pavement Replacement for approx. 330 feet to either side of US 41

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

Lake/Newton/Jasper counties

• Project: I-65 Road Rehabilitation from .056 miles S of SR 10 to 2.14 miles S of SR 2

Details: Restricted to one 12-foot lane in each direction; Wide Load Detour: SR 10 EB to US 231 NB to SR 2 WB

Timeframe: March 24 - November 2009

LaPorte County

• Project: US 12 NICTD Railroad Crossing Resurface Construction between SR 520 and US 35 on the W side of Michigan City

Details: Closed to all traffic; Detour: SR 520 SB to US 20 EB to US 35 NB

Timeframe: July 27-31

Marshall County

• Project: US 31 New Bridge Construction and Road Realignment over US 31 for Lilac Rd. and 6^th Rd.

Details: US 31 restricted to one lane in each direction between US 30 and US 6; Lilac Rd./6^th Rd. closed on both sides of US 31; Detour: Local roads including Michigan Rd., 5A Rd., Lilac Rd., 5B Rd., Linden Rd. and 7B Rd.

Timeframe: Feb. 24 - October 2009

• Project: US 31 New Bridge Construction over US 31 for Plymouth-Goshen Trail

Details: US 31 restricted to one lane in each direction between US 30 and US 6; Closed: Plymouth-Goshen Trail between Lilac Rd. and King Rd.; Linden Rd. between Plymouth-Goshen Trail and 7th Rd.; 7B Rd. from US 31 to Plymouth-Goshen Trail; Detour: US 30 EB to King Rd. NB to 7th Rd.

Timeframe: Feb. 24 - October 2009

Marshall/St. Joseph counties

• Project: US 31 New Bridge Construction and Road Realignment over US 31 for Lilac Rd. and Tyler Rd.

Details: Lilac Rd. is closed between 1st Rd. and Tyler Rd. Tyler Rd. is closed between US 31 and Linden Rd. Local Detours including: US 31, CR 100N, 1st Rd. and King Rd.

Timeframe: April 17 - August 2009

Newton County

• Project: US 41 Microsurface Construction from US 24 to SR 114

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction during daylight hours

Timeframe: July 22 - September 2009

Porter County

• Project: SR 2/US 231 Road Reconstruction from S town limits to N town limits of Hebron and SR 8 Road Reconstruction from SR 2/US 231 to Norbeh Dr.

Details: SR 2/US 231 closed to all traffic between Jackson St. and Aylea St. Detour: SR 2 WB to I-65 NB to US 231 SB; SR 8 closed to all traffic between SR 2/US 231 and Norbeh Dr. Detour: US 231 NB to I-65 SB to SR 2 EB to US 231 SB to SR 10 EB to SR 49 NB

Timeframe: March 16 - Fall 2009

• Project: Calumet Ave (old SR 49) and US 6 Bridge Painting over SR 49

Details: SR 49 restricted to one northbound lane under each bridge

Timeframe: July 6 - August 2009

• Project: SR 49 Bridge Painting over US 30

Details: US 30 restricted to one westbound lane under SR 49

Timeframe: July 6 - August 2009

• Project: SR 149 Asphalt Resurface from SR 130 to US 20

Details: Restricted to one lane as directed by flag persons around a moving operation during daylight hours

• Project: US 35 Asphalt Resurface from SR 14 to SR 10

Details: Restricted to one lane as directed by flag persons around a moving operation during daylight hours

• Project: Locust Road Bridge Replacement over US 20/31, 1 mile E of SR 23

Details: US 20/31 restricted to one lane in each direction under bridge; Locust Road overpass closed to all traffic; Detour: Ireland Rd. EB to Linden Rd. NB to Ewing Ave. WB

Timeframe: June 29 - November 2009

• Project: SR 331 Small Structure Replacement over Madison Township Ditch, 5.6 miles S of US 20

Details: Closed to all traffic; Detour: US 6 WB to US 31 NB to US 20 EB

Timeframe: June 15 - early August 2009

• Project: SR 933 Resurface Construction from Angela Blvd. to Michigan state line

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction

Timeframe: March 23 - August 2009

• Project: Kenilworth Road Bridge Construction over new U.S. 31 between Shively Rd. and Lake Trail

Details: Closed to all traffic; Detour: Shively Rd. EB to Lake Trail NB

Timeframe: July 20 - June 2010

Starke County

• Project: US 35 Microsurface Construction through the City of Knox

Details: Restricted to one lane in each direction during nighttime hours

Timeframe: July 22 - August 2009

White County

• Project: US 421 Bridge Replacement over Little Monon Creek, 0.72 miles south of SR 16

Details: Restricted to one lane as directed by a temporary traffic signal
