PETERSBURG, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that State Road 57 (S.R. 57) will be closing in Petersburg.
Working in conjunction with Indiana Southern Railroad officials, INDOT will be closing S.R. 57 from the junction of State Road 56 (S.R. 56) in Petersburg to the junction of State Road 64 (S.R. 64) in Oakland City. Indiana Southern Railroad will be rebuilding their crossing, at the S.R. 56 Junction.
Crews will begin reconstruction of the crossing on Monday, August 10, at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time. Reconstruction of the crossing is anticipated to last through Monday, August 17.
No through vehicle traffic will be allowed, however local residents will have access to the point of closure. All lanes of traffic will be closed at the crossing. The official detour will follow S.R. 56, S.R.61 and S.R. 64.
