STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that the speed limit will be lowered in the Town of Orland to 40 mph, from 3,700 feet north of S.R. 120 to 5,300 feet north of S.R. 120. The new speed zone in this location (1,600 feet) is effective today. INDOT conducted a speed study on S.R. 327 as a result of a request by the Orland Police Department to clarify the posted speed zones and to determine proper speed zones. On the basis of the study, it has been determined that a 40 mph speed zone is warranted in a portion of this section of S.R. 327 north of S.R. 120. In addition, the Town of Orland has requested that three separate parking stalls be designated as reserved parking for persons with disabilities on S.R. 120 east of S.R. 327 (Bronson Road and Toledo Road) downtown. Signage will be posted today.
