"Much Ado About Nothing"
Friday, July 31, 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 1, 8 p.m.

Experience Shakespeare outdoors at White River State Park. Heartland Actors' Repertory Theatre will perform the Shakespearean romantic comedy "Much Ado About Nothing" as part of the 2009 Family Arts Series. The performance will be offered both Friday and Saturday evenings.

"Much Ado About Nothing" tells the story of two lovers, Claudio and Hero, who are set to be married in one week. The couple conspires with Don Pedro, prince of Aragon, to trick two of their friends, Beatrice and Benedick, into confessing their love for one another. However, the prince's illegitimate brother Don John, jealous of both Don Pedro's power and his affection for Claudio, attempts to sabotage the upcoming nuptials.

Starting at approximately 6:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday evenings, guests can arrive early to enjoy live music. Cara Jean Wahler, singer and songwriter, will take the stage Friday night, accompanied by cellist Grover Parido. Tim Brickley, Emmy Award-winning performer/producer and rock and jazz vocalist, will play old standards from the Great American Songbook to start things off Saturday night.

Wine and refreshments will be available for purchase during the Shakespeare performances. Easley Winery will offer wine by the glass and bottle, and Centerplate will offer fruit, cheese, crackers, mini deli sandwiches and desserts.
