Two Vehicle Crash Injures Three Children - UPDATE

Knox County:  On July 23 at approximately 3:10 p.m. troopers from the Evansville Post responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash on US 41 at the Freelandville Road intersection.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2000 Ford Minivan driven by Lisa Rosales, 40, Benton Harbor MI was traveling east attempting to cross the northbound lanes of US 41.  Rosales failed to yield the right of way to a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Truck, driven by Steven Carnahan, 38 Carlisle, IN.  The 2007 Chevrolet hit the 2000 Ford in the left side. 

 

Both Rosales and Carnahan were not injured however three children in Rosales' van were.

Alejandro Rosales, 7

Benton Harbor, MI 

 

On the night of the crash Alejandro was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with severe internal injuries but unfortunately over the weekend he died.   

 

Injured:

Brianna Rosales, 8, sustained a broken leg and back injuries and was also air lifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  Brianna is still being treated for her injuries at this time.

 

Gabriella Rosales, 10, suffered a broken leg and was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes where she was treated and released.
