State Sen. Alting and Fellow Lawmakers to Discuss Sunday, Election Day Alcohol Sales
STATEHOUSE (Sept. 4, 2009) - State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) and fellow members of the Interim Study Committee on Alcoholic Beverages next week will begin analyzing current bans of Sunday and Election Day alcohol sales.
Alting, vice-chairman of the panel, said lawmakers will meet in Room 233 of the Statehouse at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Other items on the agenda include the issuance of alcoholic beverage permits and liquor liability insurance.

"On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the committee will begin listening to public testimony at 1 p.m. in Room 404 of the Statehouse," Alting said.

"Right now, the bipartisan committee is on a fact-finding mission," Alting said. "Over the next few months, we will look at these particular issues from all angles and weigh the pros and cons of lifting these bans. We will then present our findings to fellow lawmakers when the General Assembly gathers for session in January 2010."
