Most of the interpretive facilities at Spring Mill State Park will close for the winter at 5 p.m. on Nov. 1.
The Pioneer Village will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 1. After Nov. 1, the village will be closed to the general public. The only exception is a special event, Christmas in the Village on Dec. 4, from 5 to 9 p.m., and Dec. 5, from 1 to 9 p.m.
The Nature Center will also be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 1. After that, the park's interpretive naturalist and volunteer coordinator will move their offices into the Spring Mill Inn for the winter season. Visitors should watch for special programs throughout the winter, based out of the inn.
Boat tours of Twin Caves will be offered on weekends only through Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Same-day tour reservations are accepted beginning at 9 a.m.
The Grissom Memorial, which highlights the life and career of astronaut Virgil I. Grissom, will remain open throughout the winter. The Memorial is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
