Porter County-Early this morning Senior Trooper Glen Fifield arrested a Portage man for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI) who was almost four times over the state of Indiana's legal limit of .08% blood alcohol content.

At approximately, 2:20 a.m., this morning Porter County Sheriff Department received a call from a concerned citizen about a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up being driven erratically.  A Porter County Sheriff's Deputy initiated the traffic stop on State Road 149 and 1000 North with Trooper Fifield arriving shortly after.

The driver, later identified as Zachary R. Duis, 24 of Portage, had an open bottle of alcohol in his pick-up.  He failed field sobriety field tests and was taken to Portage Police Department for a certified breath test.  Duis stated to Trooper Fifield that, "Dude, I do this every night; I'm straight up and not drunk!"

Duis was also wanted on two warrants out of Porter County for Resisting Law Enforcement a Class C Misdemeanor and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor a Class A Misdemeanor.

Duis was taken to Porter County Jail were he was incarcerated.
