Lake County-Early this morning, Indiana State Police Trooper Marcus Gholson responded to a motorcycle crash on I-80 east bound at the 4.3 mile marker (this is between Kennedy Avenue and Cline) where the driver is in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 12:44 a.m., this morning, a 2006 Honda motorcycle was driven by Billy E. Wetherford, 42 of Gary, Indiana. Witnesses stated that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed in the left lane.  Wetherford lost control of the bike and crashed, and came to rest in the middle lane.  He was not wearing a helmet.
