Noble County- Two men were arrested on Sunday, November 15th for allegedly burglarizing the Dollar General Store in the City of Ligonier.
According to Indiana State Police Detective Mark Heffelfinger, at approximately 8:00 am, he himself made the discovery that the Dollar General had been entered forcefully. Further investigation, which included use of the store's video surveillance system, showed two male suspects in the store, along with their clothing description. It was also learned that an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency had allegedly been taken by the suspects.
At approximately 11:00 am on the same date, Indiana State Trooper Joe Hartman stopped a vehicle on State Road 9 near the Michigan State Line in LaGrange County for a traffic violation. During the stop, Trooper Pete Bradley and his K-9 partner were summoned for a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of narcotics, burglary tools, and US currency. It was also determined that the two men in the vehicle matched the physical and clothing description from the Dollar General video surveillance system. Both men were taken into custody and incarcerated in the Noble County Jail on a preliminary charge of burglary.
