INDIANAPOLIS-- State Senator Jean Breaux (D-Indianapolis) has been appointed to serve on the Health Finance Commission again in 2012. The Commission will review how the state regulates and monitors pain management facilities and prescribers of controlled substances in light of an increasing trend of pain medication abuse.
Sen. Breaux has also been appointed to the Indiana Commission on Autism, Community and Hope Options to Institutional Care for the Elderly and Disabled Board, Commission on Developmental Disabilities, Interagency State Council on Black and Minority Health, Commission on Minority and Women's Business Enterprises, Indiana Recycling Market Development Board, Regulatory Flexibility Committee, State Fair, Advisory Committee, Select Joint Commission on Medicaid Oversight, and the Indiana Commission for Women.
The Indiana General Assembly annually convenes interim study committees and permanent commissions to conduct in-depth research and analysis of issues affecting the state.
