Recently, the Town of Porter signed resolutions opposing legislation proposed by the Republican supermajority in the Statehouse. The Town Council signed multiple resolutions opposing significant cuts to municipal property tax revenues, Senate Bill 355 pertaining to changing their elections, and House Bill 1461 which looks at turning our highways into toll roads. Today in Appropriations Committee, we heard testimony on HB 1001 the State Budget. Testimony included proposals for new revenue sources to add funding for vital programs. Many of the agencies are facing cuts without replacement funding sources.
