Secretary of State Website to Offer "Real-Time" Election Results

Returns from all 117 Cities, Orange County Referendum to be posted live



Indianapolis, IN - Secretary of State Todd Rokita announced today that election returns from every mayoral contest in the state and the Orange County Gambling Referendum will be posted live on the Secretary of State's website, http://www.sos.in.gov/, Tuesday, November 4, 2003. Results will be updated throughout the evening.

"We believe this will be the only place where you'll be able to access voting results from every mayoral race in the state in real time," Rokita said. "This is an important service, and we're pleased to be able to provide it to Hoosiers."

The polls in the following cities close at 7:00 PM Indianapolis time: Boonville, Crown Point, East Chicago, Evansville, Gary, Hammond, Hobart, Lake Station, LaPorte, Michigan City, Mount Vernon, Portage, Princeton, Rensselaer, Rockport, Valparaiso, and Whiting. All other polls in Indiana close at 6:00 PM Indianapolis time.

The site received 55,238 hits during the week of primary elections, May 4 through May 10, 2003. Secretary Rokita's website also contains statewide election results for all elections dating back to 1997.
