Persimmon pudding is a longstanding southern Indiana tradition – after all, this is the 66th Annual Persimmon Festival! The main event of the festival is always the persimmon pudding recipe contest. Last year’s winner used buttermilk, heavy cream, butter, eggs, vanilla and cinnamon. In fact, one past winner recently appeared on NBC’s Today show to bake pudding! Other highlights include candlelight tour through Springmill State Park’s historic village and the Grand Parade, one of Indiana’s largest, and a variety of musical acts.
