Attention Hoosier Employers, HR Personnel and CPA’s
This year you will notice a decrease in the amount you must pay the federal government in Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) premiums. This is due to the fact that in the fall of 2015, the State of Indiana repaid in full the unemployment insurance trust fund loan from the federal government, which was incurred during the Great Recession. As a result, FUTA taxes paid in 2016 will be $42 per employee, instead of $168 per employee. WIOA Unified State Plan Draft
