Robing Ceremony of the Honorable Mary A. DeBoer
The robing ceremony for Judge Mary A. DeBoer will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. ET in the Supreme Court Courtroom, on the 3rd floor of the State House. The public is invited to watch a webcast of the ceremony via the following link: https://www.in.gov/courts/video/live/supreme.html.
The ceremony will include remarks from Joe Heerens, General Counsel for The Honorable Eric J. Holcomb, Chief Justice Loretta H. Rush, Court of Appeals of Indiana Chief Judge Robert R. Altice, Jr., Magistrate Judge John E. Martin of the Northern District of Indiana, Judge Robert W. Freese of Hendricks Superior Court, and Porter County Prosecutor Gary Germann.
Chief Judge Altice will administer the oath with the assistance of Judge DeBoer’s daughter Lindsey. Judge DeBoer’s husband David will assist in the ceremonial robing.
In September, Governor Holcomb named Judge DeBoer to succeed Judge Patricia A. Riley. Judge DeBoer was sworn in at a private ceremony on October 15, 2024 and officially began her duties as judge on that date.

The Court of Appeals of Indiana is the second-highest court in the state, hearing appeals from the state’s trial courts. The 15 members of the Court issue approximately 2,000 written opinions annually. A decision is final unless granted further review by the Indiana Supreme Court.
