Nominating Commission names finalists for Allen County judicial position
The Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission announced three finalists to fill an upcoming vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David Avery.

On September 25, the commission, which is chaired by Supreme Court Justice Christopher Goff, interviewed 6 candidates. After deliberating in an executive session, the commission publicly voted to send the three finalists to the governor. According to Indiana law, the commission is required to submit to the governor “the three most highly qualified candidates” for appointment when a vacancy arises. Upon receiving the list, Governor Holcomb has 60 days in which to make an appointment to the Allen Superior Court. Details on the commission, including membership, are online.
