The St. Joseph County Judicial Nominating Commission consists of seven members for terms of four years: three members appointed by the Governor, three members appointed by the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners, and one Supreme Court Justice who serves as chair. The Commission is required to evaluate candidates and submit to the Governor, five nominees who are the most highly qualified from among all the eligible individuals considered.
