Commissioner Stu Barnes-Israel
Stu Barnes-Israel is a native Hoosier and a graduate of Butler University. He joined the U.S. Army, where he served for seven years, including a yearlong tour in Afghanistan, where he led an infantry platoon. Stu served as a combat arms officer for four years and an intelligence officer for three years. He earned the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for his leadership in combat. After leaving the military, Stu obtained an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, a global consulting firm, and led strategy and transformation at Citadel, an investment firm. He founded and operates an Indiana-based consulting firm that specializes in public-private partnerships, innovation, and economic development. Stu lives in Greensburg, Indiana, with his wife and three children.
