The Department of Psychology is proud to be a part of the education and training of current and future mental health professionals. Some of the ways this education and training is accomplished includes:
- Staff are featured speakers at national and local conferences and trainings
- Staff provide trainings to new and existing employees on topics such as understanding mental illness, therapeutic interactions, sex offender treatment, malingering and others
- Our year-long, 20-hour per week practicum in forensic psychology is highly sought after and accepts one to two doctoral students per year
- The department facilitates research on topics related to forensic psychology and inpatient psychological treatments
