INDIANAPOLIS (March 8, 2005) ? Governor Mitch Daniels and the Board of Trustees for the Public Employees? Retirement Fund (PERF) today announced the appointment of David J. Adams as the new PERF executive director.

?David brings a wealth of experience and an entrepreneurial spirit to the fund. His operations, business focus and customer-service orientation are the mix we need to improve the way PERF delivers its important services,? said the governor.

Adams will be part of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as established by Governor Daniels to include all financial organizations of the state and will report to Charles Schalliol, OMB director.

?Dave will be exploring cost savings and synergies among PERF, the Teachers? Retirement Fund and other OMB organizations,? said Schalliol.

Adams will begin his new duties immediately. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he has spent the majority of his career in the business community focused primarily on applying technology to solve complex business problems. Most recently, he was managing partner of Estate Ventures, a real estate venture firm in Indianapolis, and has operated V-Trade, an online trading company.

Prior to forming these Indiana based businesses, he spent the previous 15 years in various sales and consulting management positions.

I will focus on our customers? impressions of us and what we can do to improve and ensure a rewarding and enjoyable service experience with the fund.?

Adams earned bachelor?s and master?s degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Louisville. He maintains an active relationship with his alma mater by serving on the Board of Advisors for the School of Industrial Engineering.

?The management of the fund is a daily challenge for the PERF staff, requiring a broad array of technical skills and a deep dedication to quality service,? said Richard Doermer, a PERF trustee since 1976. ?David Adams, we have been pleased to note, brings to the organization those important skills, and we are grateful he has agreed to join us.
