President Bush to attend
Black Expo event on July 14
INDIANAPOLIS (July 8, 2005) -- The White House announced
today that President Bush has accepted Governor Mitch Daniels' invitation
to visit Indianapolis to attend the Indiana Black Expo Corporate Luncheon and
Awards event on July 14.
"I invited President Bush because I believe it is time
this great event was honored with a presidential visit. I am trying to speak to
the need for Indiana
to be unified across all lines, and I know the President shares those
thoughts,” said Governor Daniels.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the RCA Dome
and is sold out.
The
Indiana Black Expo 35th Anniversary Summer Celebration began July 7
and continues through July 17. The event is the largest African-American event
in the nation and includes business workshops, health and wellness, employment
opportunities, spiritual enrichment and a number of other events and
activities. During the luncheon, several community and business leaders will be
recognized. Information about Black Expo is available at www.indianablackexpo.com
