INDIANAPOLIS (November 30, 2006) ? Governor Mitch Daniels today announced the promotion of Betsy Burdick to deputy chief of staff. She has served as director of cabinet and agency affairs for the past two years.
?Betsy has become a jack of all trades in our office. She has worked directly with our cabinet agencies to implement more streamlined and efficient operations and has been instrumental in our efforts to gain passage of key legislation, including Major Moves,? said Daniels.
In her new role, Burdick will coordinate legislative and intergovernmental communications and oversee administrative functions of the governor?s office.
Before joining the governor?s office, Burdick was chief deputy treasurer of state for the Indiana State Treasurer for six years, where she managed staff members and was the treasurer?s designee to a number of boards and commissions, including the Indiana Deferred Compensation Board, the Transportation Finance Authority, and the State Board of Finance.
Burdick replaces Earl Goode, who is now the governor?s chief of staff. Her appointment is effective immediately.
