Washington, D.C. (May 24, 2006) ? Governor Mitch Daniels will testify before a Congressional committee this morning on how Indiana is resolving its transportation funding problems through his innovative Major Moves transportation and economic development plan. The plan will close the state?s $3 billion dollar infrastructure gap and quadruple new construction on roads and bridges throughout the state without increasing the gas tax or issuing additional debt.
The governor will appear before the Highways, Transit and Pipelines Subcommittee of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee at the invitation of Subcommittee Chairman Thomas Petri, R-WI, at 9:30 a.m. this morning in room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
