INDIANAPOLIS (July 27, 2006) ? The Office of First Lady Cheri Daniels today announced the appointment of Elkhart native Jill Burleson as chief of staff. Burleson also will continue in her role as director of the Governor?s Residence, which she has had since January 2005.

Burleson replaces Danielle Chrysler, who will continue to serve as the governor?s scheduler and assume additional duties as policy director for energy issues and liaison to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

As residence director, Burleson oversees day-to-day operations of the renovation at the Governor?s Residence and is responsible for coordinating events held there. She now will also handle the First Lady?s scheduling and staffing and will work on initiatives such as Heart to Heart, a new program to promote heart health among Indiana women.

Burleson earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University.
