EXPLORING A WORLD

WE CHANGE LIVES
BY CHANGING SYSTEMS
The purpose of the Indiana Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities (GCPD) is to advance social and policy changes that lead to meaningful inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and their families in all aspects of life. Through key activities like outreach, training, barrier elimination, community education, and informing policymakers GCPD aspires to shape Indiana into strong, supportive communities where people with ID/DD can exercise self-determination and independence in their own lives.

By Governor’s proclamation, in March we’ll be celebrating and recognizing people with developmental disabilities.
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month celebrates how people with and without disabilities come together to create strong, supportive communities. Let’s work to ensure everyone can contribute meaningfully, not just this month, but all year long.
