Asthma is a complex disease that has a wide range of symptoms and levels of severity. There are several different types of asthma; allergic asthma, non-allergic asthma, exercise-induced asthma, occupational asthma, and nocturnal asthma. IDEM is an environmental agency and therefore has focused on environmental asthma triggers. Reducing exposure to your known environmental triggers is only a portion of a well developed asthma management plan. Only your doctor can properly diagnose the type of asthma you have, your level of severity and develop an asthma management plan that works for you.
